Around the World at Grub

Grub around the world

We’ve all seen those lists of places you need to see before you die. Some itineraries include 25 destinations. Some go as far as 40. Or maybe it’s an odd even number, like 28?

If you’re at a place in your life where you can knock all of these off your travel bucket list, then more power to you. For a lot of us, though, the occasional spring break to Mexico or ski trip to Colorado is all we need. Maybe you backpacked through Europe, you adventurer, you.

At Grub, we respect the homebodies. But we also draw inspiration from the world around us. If we weren’t busy serving delicious food and drink to our guests day in and day out, maybe we’d get out and explore it more. (Not a complaint!) For now, we’re content to globetrot courtesy of cuisine.

You see, you don’t need a passport to experience everything the world has to offer. At Grub, you can travel the world without even buying a plane ticket. All you need is a healthy appetite and a place to sit.

So pack your bags (not literally) and let us take you on a worldly trip you’ll never forget.

New Orleans

First stop! Get in the Mardi Gras spirit any time of year with our Voo Doo Mushroom Burger. Absinthe-sautéed mushrooms, Swiss cheese and Tabasco mayo bring the Big Easy right to your plate.

Mexico

Viva la Grub! Our Guacapotle Burger, with its Chipotle aioli, cheddar cheese and homemade guacamole, will make you say, “Ay carumba!”

If that’s not Mexican enough for you, add in our Black Bean & Charred Corn Medley, made with red onion, tomato, cilantro, jalapeño and fresh lime juice, plus one of our margaritas for good measure. Who needs Cancun?

Trinidad y Tobago

This is more on the Trinidad side, we suppose. Our Scorpion Burger comes with Pepper Jack cheese, grilled jalapeños, lettuce, tomato and a pickled habanero pepper, all topped by with our Trinidad Moruga scorpion sauce. You’ll feel more heat than you would sunning yourself on a Caribbean beach.

Alaska

For many, a great fishing expedition in Alaska sounds like pure perfection. If that’s your perfect catch, try our Wild Caught Salmon Burger. We’re talking a hand-chopped wild caught salmon and ancho chili burger patty, topped with avocado, black bean and charred corn medley, tequila lime and fresh cilantro, all sandwiched by a white bun.

If bread’s not your thing, then try the Salmon Filet Bowl. Just watch out for grizzly bears. They like salmon too!

France

French fries may be an American invention, but our Skinny Fries will still have you feeling “très magnifique.”

Japan

“Wagyu” literally translates to “Japanese beef.” See? You’re more cultured already. Complete your education with our Wagyu Burger. Just check out these ingredients: Wagyu patty, roasted garlic A1 aioli, marinated grilled tomato, arugula, Swiss cheese and French fried onions. (Back to Europe so soon? Look at you go!)

If beef isn’t what’s for dinner, try our Ahi Tuna bowl instead.

Brussels

It’s not “brussel sprouts.” It’s Brussels sprouts. As in the capital of Belgium. Our Brussels sprouts are roasted, tossed in ancho lime vinaigrette and topped with queso fresco.

With fun facts like this, who needs a passport?

Lebanon/Syria

We’re really making our way through the continents now. Get some Middle Eastern cuisine done right with our Tabbouleh: chopped mint and parsley, bulgur wheat, tomatoes, cucumber and lemon juice. Light, tangy and refreshing!

Harlem

Now that we’ve seen the other side of the world, let’s head back to the good old U.S. of A. Our hand-cut double battered Harlem Chicken Tenders were inspired by a recipe originating in Harlem, NY.

Hey, did A$AP Rocky and P. Diddy just cut in line?

California

We’re sure you love your home state, but we can all admit that California is a pretty cool place. That’s why we’ve got not one, not two, but three menu items inspired by the Golden State. Our California Chicken Sandwich, California Chicken Bowl and Napa Salad will all have you singing, “Californiaaaa, here we commme.”

Kentucky

Last — but certainly not least — we’re off to a Southern state known for its bourbon, moonshine and horsing around. But that’s not all. Our Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich will reveal a longing for the Appalachian Mountains you didn’t even know you had.

Stop cyber-stalking that favorite travel blogger of yours and come take your taste buds on an adventure. Only at your nearest Grub.
